The Normal Heights Community Development Corporation (NHCDC) was established in 1982 by Gary Weber, Steve Temko, Steven Haines, and others to revitalize Normal Heights. One of it's first accomplishments was to rehabilitate and refurbish the Normal Heights sign and plant trees along the block between 33rd and Felton. Many other neighborhood organizations followed including the Adams Ave Business Association, the Normal Heights Community Association, the Normal Heights Planning Group, and the Normal Heights Urban Arts. These organizations work in different capacities to make Normal Heights a livable and vibrant community.
